EYE CHECK UP CAMP

3 Eye check up camps were organized one in the Scholl and two in the in the slum areas of Kapil Nagar and Bhim nagar with the joint collaboration of Yadav Eye Care Hospital. 231 people including children, women and elderly people participated and benefitted from this camp. 8 patient were identified with cataract. They were referred to Dr. Yadav Hospital werecatract operation was done free of charge for them. 47 spectacles were given to the most vulnerable participants which was sponsored by Dr. Yadav himself. We are greaful to Dr. Yadav for his dedication and cooperation.

MASK AND SANITIZER DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME

As the COVID was over but to keep a safety LACIT distributed PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including N95 masks, 3 ply masks, surgical gloves, surgical caps, hand sanitizers, floor disinfectants to hospitals and other frontline workers. In addition, the organisation has provided support to communities in adopting appropriate preventive practices, hygiene behaviours and creating linkages to testing and treatment services for Covid-19. Two hospitals were provided with the supplies mentioned above and 3 ply masks were given to 1027 people.

This year LACIT has organization Health Check Up camp for only children under the age group of 3 to 15 years. 186 children were participated. They were gone through general medical check up and provided the medicine, tonics and advice free of cost. This program was organized in collaboration with Mure Memorial Hospital. We are thankful to Dr. Vilas Shende, Director of MMH Hospital. The hospital provided team of doctors with specialization in child care, eye care, dental care and general physicians. The cost of program and medicine was taken care by the Trust. The volunteers of LACIT took keen initiative in organizing the camp with a grand success.

INTEGRATED CHILD CARE PROGRAMS

A health awareness program was organized in which various healths relevant aspects were raised by the children through IEC material which was received from department of health publicity, 10 children were played drama, songs and self expression program and 17 children participated in competitions. Prizes were distributed to the participated children with the hand of District Health Officer, to encourage them for their active participation in future. It is reported in the slum area (base on findings) Child Labor Problem is rooted all over, more than 60% of such child laborers exist in the slums area of the city. This year LACIT is focus on to this point and run integrated child care program through which various activities were undertaken such as prevention of child labor, counseling and guidance especially for child, pre-school education etc.

HEALTH CHECK UP CAMPS(2023-2024)

This year we organized 2 health camps, one in the Isasani village in collaboration with Hope Hospital on Sunday the 28th May 2023 and another at village Bhim nagar in collaborationwith Dr. Yadaw Hospital of Nagpur on Saturday the 8th July 2023. Total 412 community people including children benefitted. Free medicine was distributed with kind sponsorship of CSR of Saraswat Bank Mumbai. Due to lack of nutritious meal and poor health & hygiene practices most of the cases were of low Hemoglobin and skin diseases found in the children, girls below 18 years of age and women. The patient were given suitable tonics and also explained Do’s and Don’t’s for living healthy life.

LACIT conducted successful eye check-up camps in two underprivileged slums, Dhami Slum on Sunday the 6th August 2023 and Samta Nagar Slum on Sunday the 24th September 2023, in collaboration with Dr. Yadaw Hospital Nagpur. The camp aimed to provide essential eye care services to marginalized communities, addressing vision-related issues and promoting overall health. A team of experienced ophthalmologists, optometrists, and volunteers worked tirelessly to screen over 196 beneficiaries, including children, adults, and elderly individuals. The camp provided comprehensive eye examinations, distributing free spectacles to those in need and referring critical cases for further treatment.
